Can you find a phone by IMEI?
IMEI helps identify a cellular device to a carrier. It is not a public locator that lets a website display a phone's live position.
What to do
First, check
Check whether a service claims to reveal a map from IMEI alone.
Then
Use your linked Apple, Google or Samsung finding account; share IMEI only with your carrier or authorities where appropriate.
If it’s not that simple
Evaluate the promise before paying
IMEI entered into a website
Does not by itself authorise a live handset-location query.
Linked owner account
Is the legitimate starting point for supported finding features.
Carrier or reporting process
May use the identifier for its specific purpose; do not confuse that with a public map service.
Good to know
Avoid paid 'IMEI tracker' pages that ask for codes, passwords or card details.
