Find a phone when it is offline
Apple Find My can use its offline network when it was enabled before the loss. Android Find Hub may show encrypted recent locations or use its crowdsourced network when configured; supported models may remain findable for a limited time after power-off.
What to do
Check the timestamp and status, then compare them with the offline-finding settings and device model that were enabled before the loss.
Keep the phone marked as lost and use Notify When Found if offered. Do not erase or remove it from the finding account before reading the platform's consequences.
If it’s not that simple
Offline does not mean one fixed capability
Apple Find My network
Must have been enabled before loss; supported devices may still be found while disconnected.
Android Find Hub
May use encrypted recent locations or its offline network, depending on settings and device support.
No available observation
Check the timestamp. Some supported Pixel models can remain detectable for a limited time after power-off, but this is not universal.
Good to know
Offline finding depends on prior setup, model, battery and nearby network conditions; it may show only an earlier location and cannot be enabled remotely after the phone is gone.
