Stolen phone: protect yourself
Treat suspected theft as a security and personal-safety issue. Use official remote lock or lost mode, protect your accounts and report the theft to your carrier and local authorities.
What to do
First, check
Check whether the device is missing in a suspicious circumstance, without visiting a map location alone.
Then
Secure it remotely, save its serial or IMEI for a report, and ask the carrier about suspending service.
If it’s not that simple
Do not trade protection for a map chase

Use the available platform lost/lock action promptly.
- Preserve evidence
Keep the device record and relevant time/status information.
- Report
Use carrier and local reporting channels; no marker identifies a thief.
Good to know
Do not confront someone at a displayed address or assume a map point identifies a person.
